The mexican striker has belonged to Manchester United since 2010. Van Gaal had previously claimed CH14 was not in his plans.

The transfer window deadline is quickly approaching and it finally seems that Javier Hernandez has found his new home. After rumours set him with a handful of clubs across Europe and even in the Major League Soccer, Bayer Leverkusen is one step above the rest as Chicharito has already cleared the medical exams with them.

The Mexican striker had been a key player in the era of Sir Alex Ferguson back in 2010. Back then, the team reached the UEFA Champions League final but lost against Barcelona. When David Moyes came in, he was barely seen on the field and with Louis Van Gaal, CH14 was not even in his plans.

LVG has never been a CH14 fan

That sent the former Chivas striker on a one-year loan to Real Madrid to play under the instructions of Carlo Ancelotti in the 2014-2015 season. When Karim Benzema got injured at the end of the season, Javier Hernandez showed what he was capable off. His best moment with Los Blancos came in the quarter-final match between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid where he scored the game-winning goal in the 88th minute.

Over the summer, Javier Hernandez dealt with a roller coaster of situations. Real Madrid stated that they would not buy him despite his efforts. Then he was called to play with Mexico in the Gold Cup but suffered a collarbone fracture in a friendly game that sidelined him for the rest of the summer. He would return to play for Manchester United in the UCL Playoffs but after missing a penalty in the second leg against Club Brugge, LVG was not impressed and one day later he was told he could leave the club.

After a rough summer, it seems like Little Pea can start to smile again

Teams like Sevilla, Porto, Benfica, Tottenham and Orlando City had shown interest in the 27-year old player from Guadalajara, Jalisco. In the end, Bayer Leverkusen stepped up and Hernandez flew to Germany where on Monday morning he presented his medical exams with the club, just hours ahead of the deadline.
