The Red Devils come into this match at the back of three straight wins and will be hoping to continue their perfect league run. The Englishman has accepted that his performance against Aston Villa was below par, but is determined that the goals will come.
"I'm an honest guy. I know when I don't play well and against Aston Villa I was below my standards," he said.
"It's not a game which I want to look back on but obviously that happens in football. You'll have nights like that and you have to move on.
"It's early on in the season. We are just three games in. I've experienced this (criticism) before and the goals will come, I know that.
"I understand I have to be the one who's going to lead that line for us and try and find the goals for us."
The 29 year old who partly played a role in midfield last season is destined to lead the line for the Red Devils this campaign and is hopeful he can continue his fine run against Newcastle.
"My mind is clear. I know how to play the role.
"It's just a case of getting the chances and taking them, which I'm hopefully going to do soon.
"I've always enjoyed playing against Newcastle, so hopefully on Saturday I can open my scoring. It's important that we all chip in.

New signing Florian Thauvin is poised to make his debut for Newcastle against Man United after signing a five year deal at the club. Daryl Janmaat will not be able to play a part after receiving his marching orders in the match against Swansea whereas Moussa Sissoko is a serious doubt.
Marouane Fellaini will serve the last of his three match ban while Phil Jones will remain on the sidelines.
Players to watch out for
Teammates last season, but they will be opponents this time around as Georginio Wijnaldum and Memphis Depay go head to head. The two men were integral to PSV lifting the title last season and will now be hoping to make things happen for their new sides..png)
