Manchester United did not meet Pedro's economic needs and switched with Chelsea. He already joined his first training session with Jose Mourinho.

The 28-year-old Spanish striker Pedro has ended the speculation about his future after signing a four-year contract with the reigning Premier League Champions, Chelsea. While Manchester United was a front-runner to hire him by Monday, everything changed and now he belongs to the London based team.

Pedro has officially joined Chelsea

Pedro flew to England on Wednesday and got his medical done that same day. On Thursday morning he was presented officially with his new team and just a few moments later, he joined Jose Mourinho and the rest of his new team in Cobham for his first practice in a Chelsea outfit.

The World Cup champion with Spain in 2010 will be traveling with the team to West Bromwich Albion on Sunday. The five-time Premier League champs is on the verge of having their worst start in 17 years. With one draw and its most recent loss against Manchester City 3-0.

Pedro confirmed the news on Twitter

Pedro had been with Barcelona's first team since 2008 and his current contract would have expired in 2019. He had been part of the team's youth academy system but with the arrival of Neymar Jr. and Luis Suarez, his time on the field was limited, while his time on the bench was increasing.

Pedro steps into Cobham's training grounds for the first time

The rumors of Pedro leaving Barcelona grew stronger over the summer. While he was the hero in the UEFA Super Cup, he was not convinced that his future with the Catalan side would be so bright. While Luis Enrique hinted he wanted Pedro to stay, Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City jumped to try and sign him.

Now, Pedro joins Diego Costa, Cesar Azplilicueta and Cesc Fabregas, who have been his teammates under Vicente del Bosque in the Spanish national team. Pedro hopes to have more playing time with Chelsea and Diego Costa's constant injury make him a great go-to option for the Special One moving forward.
