Red Devils chief executive Ed Woodward is in Barcelona competing the deal. There is some interest from Chelsea and Manchester City on the striker.

Manchester United's chief executive Ed Woodward is putting all the pressure he can on Barcelona and Pedro to make up their minds and let the striker move to England and play for the Red Devils. After Woodward witnessed yesterday's game, Pedro is one step closer as he has agreed with Manchester to personal terms.

There are still a few details being finalized, but it seems like by the end of the week Pedro will be Memphis Depay's teammate at Old Trafford. The 28-year old player born in Tenerife started last night's game against Athletic Bilbao but could not score in the 1-1 draw. He however, saved his team from losing to Sevilla in the UEFA Supercup just a few days before.

Pedro joined Barcelona's first team in 2008. He was starting to become a regular in the starting lineup until Luis Suarez and Neymar Jr. appeared to join Lionel Messi in attack. While his playing time was limited in the second half of last season, his efficiency ratio was quite high. In 321 games for Barcelona, he scored 99 goals.

He grew up playing for Barcelona in their youth divisions. It wasn't until 2008 when he got the chance to be a part of the first team. By 2010, he was already part of the Spanish national team and that same year, they won the World Cup.

The prize of the deal is the only thing that needs to be set

Under the management of Luis Enrique, Pedro was not too happy. He got to start most games until El Superclasico in October. Since then, the MSN trio was in control of Barcelona's frontline. Together, they scored 122 goals that lead the Catalan side to win the treble in the 2014-2015 season.

Louis Van Gaal wants to add pace, creativity and goals to his team. That is some of the things he feels he could get with Pedro, who has a £22m release clause in his contract. The Spanish striker is demanding a starting position or at least more playing time than what he got in Barcelona, whose contract expires in 2019.

Luis Enrique has expressed that he wants Pedro to stay but that he will no be begging for that to happen. Now with Woodwards presence in the Catalan territory, it seems very likely that Pedro will soon be joining the Red Devils. Even with Chelsea and Manchester City showing some interest, Pedro's future could belong to the team from Old Trafford before the week is over.
