The Costa Rican hopes that he can live up to his five-year contract with Los Blancos, while he fights for the top job with recently signed Kiko Casilla

Keylor Navas wants to prove his worth. Once Real Madrid's first tune up game against Roma ended, the Costa Rican shot-stopper shared his thoughts about the upcoming season with Los Blancos. After Iker Casillas' departure and Kiko Casilla's arrival to Chamartin, Navas wants to show that he can be considered as the team's starter defending the net.

Navas has been pointed out as the next in line to leave the team if David De Gea signs, but the current Number One keeper for Los Blancos has other plans.

"I will keep fighting for the spot. I want to be the first-choice keeper. I have a five-year deal with the team and I expect to live up to it. I'm truly happy here and I'm focused on winning lots of trophies with the club," Navas said.

Navas is not afraid about his days with Real Madrid ending soon. In fact, the keeper is psyched by the chance to share the dressing room with Kiko Casilla, since he is a top-quality goalkeeper.

"Kiko is one of the finest goalkeepers in La Liga. If the club set their sights on him, it surely means that he has the skills to be here. Competing against him will be good, we'll work side by side to give the team our best performance and respecting our team-mates," Navas added.

Real Madrid will continue their pre-season matches this week, facing teams such as Inter Milan and AC Milan.
