According to the Spanish news outlet, selling the Spanish defender and next-in-line captain is out of the question after Casillas’ exit.

Sergio Ramos, alongside fellow La Furia Roja team-mate David de Gea, have been dominating the summer transfer window rumors, with both players tipped to switch club and head in the opposite direction.

However, a recent report by Spanish media news outlet MARCA looks to smash all rumors of an exit for the Real Madrid defender, with the journal reporting that the player is “untransferable”.

Following the departure of legendary captain Iker Casillas, the 29-year-old defender, who was his vice-captain, is now seen as the new heir in Madrid.

Currently with the Merengues squad on their Australia pre-season tour, set to embark on their International Champions Cup campaign, Ramos is loved by the Real Madrid faithful, thus making him the front-runner to succeed Saint Iker as skipper.

However, the report by MARCA claims that though the player is valued at his club and is in no negotiations with interested suitors, Ramos is still keen on leaving the 10-time Champions League winners due to a presumed lack of respect.

Contract negotiations with the Spaniard is on-going, however, MARCA labeled these discussions to tie down the player to a new deal as “entrenched” and a “soap opera”, with the Red Devils believed to be have tabled a salary package worth 11 million euros for Ramos.

Newly appointed manager Rafael Benitez is tipped as the man to mediate talks between the player and club president Florentino Perez, as Real Madrid look to avoid seeing two influential players walk out the door in the very same summer.
