Plus, the Gunners are reportedly plotting a £19.8m move for this Portuguese star as another midfield option.

After helping Juventus win their fourth consecutive Scudetto title in the 2014-15 season, and guiding the Serie A giants to the Champions League final in Berlin, Arturo Vidal is in hot demand.

Reports reveal that the 28-year-old midfielder is close to joining compatriot Alexis Sanchez at Arsenal, with transfer rumors suggesting a £21m fee has already been agreed, a price tag which should prove a real bargain for a player of Vidal’s caliber.

Currently on national duty with La Roja at the 2015 Copa America, the player’s agent Fernando Felicevich, however, has smashed any rumors of a move to the Emirates, claiming no talks have occurred between him and the north London side over a potential transfer.

"I've not had any contact with Arsenal," the agent said, whilst on radio show America y Cross.

This latest revelation comes as a contradiction to a recent report by Italian news outlet CalcioMercato, which writes the Bianconeri are pushing to sell the former Hamburg star to the Gunners in order to be rid of his wages.

Furthermore, Massimiliano Allegri’s crew have required the services of German midfielder Sami Khedira on a free transfer, and currently boast the likes of Paul Pogba and Claudio Marchisio in their ranks, which may ease Vidal’s departure.

Arsenal, fresh of their FA Cup exploits, are in the search for midfield reinforcements, with Francis Coquelin their only defensive midfielder.

French starlet Geoffrey Kondogbia was rumored to be on their radar, but the 22-year-old opted for a move to Inter Milan, whilst Southampton ace Morgan Schneiderlin is close to joining Manchester United.

Another option for Arsene Wenger’s side is Portuguese midfielder William Carvalho, who grabbed 2nd spot in the European Under-21 Championship. According to recent reports, Arsenal appear front-runners to sign the Sporting Lisbon man for £19.8m.
