Two of the references for the Argentinean team shared their thoughts about their victory over Colombia, which sometimes both characters doubted would come.

After their dramatic victory over Colombia, Argentina's coach Gerardo Martino and Lionel Messi stated there were moments in which they doubted the team would make it to the semi-finals. According to Messi and the former Barcelona coach, La Albiceleste was able to dominate, but their lack of accuracy when facing David Ospina was a key factor for them to suffer up to the last minute.

Messi, who was named Man of the Match, revealed that some of his team-mates feared that after all the chances they missed during regulation, they were not able to defeat Colombia in the penalty shootout.

Coach Gerardo Martino spoke right on the same page as his superstar. While he recognized Colombia complicated the game with their defensive style, when the moment arrived to start the penalty shootout, he chose not to include Carlos Tévez in the first five kickers, since he had a hard time getting over his 2011 miss, which had La Albiceleste eliminated.

Argentina will face either Brazil or Paraguay for a spot in the Copa América final next Tuesday.
