The Uruguayan striker was sent off after 60 minutes of playing time when Gonzalo Jara went 'deep' with the thought of getting inside his mind.

This week must be one Edinson Cavani will want to forget quickly. After his father's incident back in Uruguay, where he got sent to jail for hitting a motorcycle while intoxicated, the player saw his team's chances of winning back-to-back Copa América titles go to the drain after Chile knocked them out of the competition. But the way he had to leave the pitch was rather gross andr frustrating for the PSG striker.

Cavani was sent off after he hit Jara in the face, but not before the Chilean defender poked the player in his buttocks, causing Cavani's reaction. Fans did not understand the player's reaction, until the replay showed what Jara did. After the player was sent off, Chile's dominance increased up to the point when they went ahead with nine minutes to go on the clock.

Jara's action was harshly criticized by fans, experts and even footballers. Check some of them below.

Diego Lugano's (Uruguayan defender) post on Facebook

"As always, the drive and respect the boys have for the Sky blue jersey was amazing! It was an even match, with Chile displaying great football.

Sandro Ricci's performance was totally announced, clearly biased. It just adds one more stripe to the tiger! And don't forget about this boy "Jarita", we will have a "chat" when we get play against each other around the world"

"Hope Jara doesn't bite his nails"
