The former Blaugrana president, who is running for office once more, shared a few thoughts about how he will get things done if elected.

Barcelona's Presidential hopeful Joan Laporta shared a few ideas about his bid to rule Los Blaugranas one more time, following his very successful presidency that went from 2003 to 2011. During an interview, Laporta stated most of the team's fans and some players such as Lionel Messi could be willing to back him to become Barcelona's ruler again.

"I have telepathy with Messi, he always knows what I'm thinking. Leo knew I would stand, maybe even before I did, because he's a genius. I feel I have the backing of the dressing room," Laporta revealed.

Considering all issues involving his campaign, Laporta revealed his project will even consider the possibility of backing Barcelona if the Catalunyan province votes for its independence from Spain.

"My project is catalanista and committed to the idea of it being a country in every sense. If Catalunya becomes independent Barca won't be lost in the world. We’re committed to the process of Catalunya becoming independent,"the candidate added.

Laporta wants to bring back Barcelona's values.

Laporta also added his intention of bringing back the tradition of not displaying any corporate logos on the team's jersey, a tradition that was sidelined by former President Sandro Rosell, who incorporated Qatar as the club's main sponsor.

"Principles come before money. Bartomeu and Rosell are Qatar, we are UNICEF. It's not good to link Barca to a country with which we don't share a way of thinking," Laporta added.
