Moldova shocked Finland on match-day one of their Euro 2012 qualifying campaign. Will their dream continue when they play away to Hungary on Tuesday night?

Euro 2012 Qualifying: Moldova goal scorer celebrating against FinlandDefeating Finland 2-0 was actually quite a way for Moldova to end their winless run of matches which lasted for almost three years. This result provided them with a great start in the Euro 2012 qualifiers as their now in the top half of Group E alongside Sweden and the Netherlands.

People are curious about the secrets behind Moldova’s stunning victory on the first day of the Euro 2012 qualifying campaign. Asked to comment ahead of his side’s match away to Hungary, Coach Gavril Balint stated:

“We will be using completely different tactics in Budapest. What kind of tactics? You’ll have to see on Tuesday! We’ve got a real chance of getting a good result. That’s the opportunity which we’ll be trying to seize.”

Unlike Moldova, Hungary are in the position where they need to bounce back – having lost 2-0 to Sweden on the opening day of their Euro 2012 qualifying campaign. The Hungarians will possess the home advantage factor and Coach Sandor Egervari is keen to build on that to change things around. As he took positives from last Friday’s defeat to Sweden, the manager explained to the media:

“There were many promising signs, especially in the first period of the match. Losing is never acceptable. But I hope that we will achieve much more on home soil, with some fresh and young players.”

In the past, Hungary have never lost a home match against Moldova whereas they drew twice and won once on home soil still. On Tuesday, victory number two will be needed for the Hungarians who definitely have to turn the tables around and thus put their Euro 2012 qualifying campaign on the right track.
