The German midfielder posted a picture in his Instagram account with a heart-felt message directed to the team's supporters.

After six months of rumors linking him to several Premier League and Bundesliga clubs, Sami Khedira finally said goodbye to Real Madrid fans and staff. The World Champion with Germany posted a picture in his Instagram account inside Los Blancos' locker room at Valdebebas.

Khedira revealed he felt the club listened to outsiders last summer, who said he had already signed with another club. This issue made his relationship with some of the team's top executives rather complicated, and due to this tension, the team stopped trying to extend his contract back in October.

In an interview with Spanish newspaper Marca, the German midfielder added he hasn't signed a new contract yet, although some teams have started negotiations to add him to their squads.

"I've always been honest with everyone. The team's execs were sure that I had signed with other club, but it's May 22th and I'm still waiting to pen a new deal. When Xabi (Alonso) left, I told them I hadn't signed anything and everything went back to normal. The truth is this: I had no agreement with other clubs, and I still don't have one," Khedira added.

Khedira has been rumored to be joining Bundesliga sides Bayern and Schalke, while other sources reported he was been sought out by Chelsea and Arsenal.
