The striker underwent surgery on May 5th, and with the upcoming transfer window, Liverpool might be thinking about a few transfers to cover his absence.

Liverpool's coach already knew he would not be able to have Daniel Sturridge for the end of the current season, but today's news may affect the way the club prepares the 2015-2016 season. After undergoing hip surgery on May 5th, Red boss Brendan Rodgers stated the player will not be available for preseason duties, with his comeback happening until October.

"We anticipate Daniel will be back hopefully to train around about September time. It's a period of time out, but we're hopeful the problems and issues he's had have been resolved with the operation. Now he can recover and hopefully get back as quick as he possibly can," Rodgers said.

The player shared a picture via his Instagram account, thanking fans for all their support.

Sturridge has proven to be key to Liverpool's success or failure when he is on and off the pitch. With his injury, Brendan Rodgers could be thinking about renewing his strikers, since Mario Balotelli, Fabio Borini and Lazar Markovic have failed to substitute Luis Suarez and the English striker.
