The Dutchman enjoyed a 16-minute cameo vs BVB before being subbed off, whilst Lewandowski suffered a broken jaw, nose and a concussion in a single game.

Bayern Munich’s DFB-Pokal semi-final loss to Borussia Dortmund went from bad to worse as news of an injury crisis among the Bavarians camp was announced.

The German giants, newly crowned Bundesliga champions, revealed via their official Twitter account that Dutch superstar Arjen Robben will miss the remainder of the season as a result of Tuesday's match.

Having torn an abdominal muscle back in March 23, which sidelined from the club’s 2nd leg Champions League clash with Porto, he returned to the pitch, being subbed in during 68th minute.

His time on the pitch was short lived, however. Robben suffered a tear in his left calf muscle, shortening his cameo to only 16 minutes, as he was taken off the field shortly before full time.

This means the 31-year-old will miss die Roten’s clash with Barcelona in the Champions League last 4, and the final, if Guardiola’s crew get past the Catalan giants.

Another player set to miss the clash with the Blaugrana is Polish striker Robert Lewandowski. The former Dortmund attacker suffered a broken nose and jaw in the encounter with Jurgen Klopp’s crew, as well as receiving a concussion. He now faces a race against time to be fit for the trip to Camp Nou.

Lewandowski did however take to Twitter to express his hopes of being ready in time for the Champions League semis, optimistically tweeting:

“It's a few more days till the match at Camp Nou, I really hope I will be able to play!”

Other key Bayern Munich players on the injury list are Franck Ribery and David Alaba, however, Thiago Alcantara is fit and well, posting via Twitter the good news.
