The German midfielder will leave Real Madrid by the end of the season, since his contract with Los Blancos expires this summer.

Sami Khedira's future seems to be taking shift once again. Even after he was rumored to be joining Schalke 04 when the current season ends, the German midfielder may yet change his decision, with Chelsea and Manchester United very interested in signing the World Champion.

Sources indicate Manchester United is preparing a contract for Khedira, which would earn Real Madrid's Number 6 more than 200,000 euros per week. Sami's contract would cost the Red Devils 11 million euros, if he chooses to sign with Van Gaal's men. Khedira's change of mind might be fueled by Schalke's current struggles in the Bundesliga, since the Miners are fifth, with no options of Champions League football next season.

But Manchester United is not the only club interested in signing the German midfielder. Other sources point out that Chelsea is also interested in making Khedira join the Blues. Coach Jose Mourinho would like to have him available to team up with Nemanja Matic and Cesc Fabregas. Mourinho's knowledge of Khedira's capabilities may influence the player's decision on where he should continue his career.

Mourinho always had Khedira among his top choices while coaching Real Madrid.
