Four-game suspension handed to Zlatan in Ligue 1

TOO LATE TO APOLOGIZE: Zlatan receives four-game ban after offensive remarks

April 10, 2015 By Oscar Casanova Perches
The suspension only applied for Ligue 1 games. PSG currently leads the domestic league by only one point.

Apologizing was not enough for Zlatan Ibrahimovic to save himself from a four-game suspension. The Paris Saint Germain striker will think twice before speaking next time, as he will now miss important games for his team.

The 33-year-old player was captured on live TV making some offensive remarks towards French people after the game PSG lost against Bordeaux 3-2. Ibra was not happy with the loss, but there was someone to blame in his book.

"In 15 years, I have never seen a referee like that. In this s****y country. This country doesn't deserve PSG,” Zlatan claimed after the game.

No one in France liked hearing that. Apparently now justice has been served. Zlatan had tried to cover his act by issuing an apology, basing his reaction on anger.

“My remarks were not aimed at France or the French people.” The Swedish striker said

The sanction comes almost a month after the incident. Many French people have even wanted Zlatan to leave the country. The disciplinary committee that made the decision to ban Zlatan based it on the offensive nature and rudeness of his words.

The punishment is only applied in Ligue 1 games. He will be able to play in the League Cup final against Bastia. Zlatan will be back for the last three games of the season of the domestic league. PSG is currently the leader with 62 points after 31 games. They don’t have any breathing space; Lyon is in second with 61.

Besides that, PSG can’t count on one of his best players for the game against Barcelona. Zlatan will serve a one-game suspension after being sent out in the game where the French side eliminated Chelsea.

Ibra had just hit a milestone with PSG
