One brilliant Twitter user pointed out to the whole world the Portuguese ace's pivotal role in Messi's wonder strike, on Wednesday.

At the 2014 Ballon d'Or gala back in January, Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo revealed to the whole world that Lionel Messi was his unlikely inspiration in football, before swooping up the coveted prize ahead of the South American sensation.

However, on Wednesday, the roles were swapped, and it was the 30-year-old Portuguese ace who played an inspirational role for the Argentine as he scored in round 30 of the Spanish Primera Division.

La Liga leaders welcomed relegation-threatened Almeria to Camp Nou looking to maintain a healthy gap between themselves and second-placed Real Madrid. And this they achieved, securing a comfortable 4-0 win in front of their own crowd.

The Blaugrana ran rampant and grabbed the victory courtesy of a Lionel Messi opener, a brace from Luis Suarez, and a 75th minute Marc Bartra header.

La Pulga, who registered his 33rd goal in Liga BBVA, his 27th at home this season, whipped in a beautiful curled shot into the back of the net after 33 minutes of play, leaving the Almeria goalkeeper helpless, and Twitter in amaze. Watch Messi's strike below.

Beautiful, yet straightforward, you may wonder in what way possible could Ronaldo have been the inspiration behind Wednesday's goal? One brilliant Twitter user, @FCBKASE, summed up the pivotal role he played spectacularly in one awesome picture that words are not needed.
