Live streaming info: Portugal vs Cape Verde - March 31, 2015

March 30, 2015 By Abdullah Zubair
Portugal will face Cape Verde at the Estádio António Coimbra da Mota in an international friendly match on Tuesday, the 31st of March. Check the live TV and online streaming broadcast listings for Portugal vs Cape Verde below.

Portugal will come into this match in a buoyant mood having picked a 2-1 win over Serbia last time out. The Seleccao  took the lead through veteran defender Ricardo Carvalho in the first half, but Nemanja Matic kept the visitors in the tie with a spectacular goal in the second half. However Fabio Coentrao  restored the lead within two minutes to ensure his side earned all three points. As a result of the win, Portugal are now in the driving seat for a place in the Euro 2016 and are currently top of Group I.

Former Man United star Luis Nani hailed the team's character after the win and claimed that the players knew that this was a must win for Portugal.

"We had to win! We are used to conceding goals from set pieces but were able to get back on track because we were all well aware we had to win this match," he said.

"Matic's goal could have destroyed us but we had to keep calm and we managed to do that. We were strong, superior, knew what we wanted and got that in the end!"

Assistant coach Ilido Vale stepped in for the suspended Fernando Santos and Vale dedicated the win to the Portugal head coach.

"We never doubted we will qualify for Euro and this moves us one step closer," he added.

"We played against a tough, quality opponent, but what can I say: we are better and deserved to win.

"We dedicade this victory to our coach Santos. No, I haven't spoken to him or exchanged text messages during the match, we got it all prepared. It is easy when you have such great players!"

Portugal come into this match at the back of four straight wins and will be hoping to pick a big win at the expense of Cape Verde. The Blue sharks on the other hand have recorded draws in each of their last three games and will be hoping for a positive result on Tuesday. They failed to score in both their last two matches, but on a positive note did not concede any goals either and they will be hoping to continue their resilience when being against Cristiano Ronaldo and co.
