ONE World Sports, America’s Network for Global Sports, and the broadcast home of the New York Cosmos, will telecast and livestream Monday’s news conference from New York City previewing the Cosmos’ historic forthcoming trip to Havana to play the Cuba National Team.
The June 2, 2015 soccer match, marking the first time in 16 years that a professional American sports franchise has played on Cuban soil, represents not only a milestone in post-embargo U.S.-Cuban relations but arguably the most significant development in global-sports-as-diplomacy since the 1971 exchange of table-tennis players between the United States and the People’s Republic of China, now etched in history as the “ping-pong diplomacy” that helped pave the way for Richard Nixon’s breakthrough 1972 visit to Beijing.
Participants in the conference, which is scheduled to commence at 11 AM EST, will include:

- New York Cosmos players Raul and Marcos Senna
- Cuba National Team Coach Walter Benitez
