Bayern Munich left no room for doubt regarding their chances to win the UEFA Champions League. After an early red card to Shakhtar's Oleksandr Kucher, the Bavarian side had a field day against the Ukrainian side, who were not able to score a single goal against Pep Guardiola's team in both legs of the series.
Thomas Müller scored the game's first goal after transforming the penalty kick given away by Kucher. Even with the one-man advantage, Bayern wasn't able to broaden their lead until 30 minutes later, when Jerome Boateng sent a loose ball into Pyatov's net.
After the break, the Bavarians scored three more goals in 20 minutes, courtesy of Ribery, Müller with his second goal tonight, and another goal by Badstuber. Lewandowski made the sixth goal for Guardiola's side, while Mario Götze sealed the score after 87 minutes.
Bayern Munich entered the UEFA Champions League record books, by tying the largest margin of defeat in a Knockout round in UCL the tournament's history. Furthermore, this was Bayern's fourth game ever scoring seven goals in a match, something no other team has achieved. On the other side, Shakhtar became the first team to score seven goals in a game and concede an equal amount during the same Champions League edition, after defeating BATE Borisov in the Group stage.

I'm surprised Bayern fans don't collapse due to exhaustion from celebrating too many goals.

Donezk have like 20 Brazilian players, no wonder they concede 7 goals vs Bayern.

Meanwhile Bayern Munich squeeze through to the quarter-finals with a 7-0 win....Yes 7.

Don't underestimate that Bayern scored 6 after Robben's exit. They've relied on him too much, a blessing in disguise if his injury isn't bad

Beat your opponents 7-0 then get to the final and lose 2-1 after scoring first. Something very bayern-ish
