They are two out of six Argentinian players that could play in the UCL game. Both players have experience in the opposite's team league.

Among the things to highlight in the upcoming 180 minutes of football between Barcelona and Manchester City, is the presence of six of Argentina’s biggest stars. Willy Caballero, Sergio Aguero, Pablo Zabaleta, Martin Demichelis, Lionel Messi and Javier Mascherano.

Zabaleta and Mascherano recently caught up with each other via Skype. Besides reminiscing about their friendship, they talked about the game between their teams.

The Man City defender is no stranger to life in Barcelona. He used to play with Espanyol from 2005 to 2008, appearing in close to 80 games. Meanwhile, Mascherano is well known in England for his time with West Ham United and Liverpool.

“You have got Messi and Neymar,” Zabaleta said. “You’re a phenomenon too. Do you want to put all the pressure on me?” Mascherano quickly responded.

“The idea will be to get a better result than last time and not have the same adverse result at Camp Nou,” Zabaleta pointed out.

The two players have played together in Argentina's National TeamZabaleta and Mascherano shared quite some information prior to facing each other

“Where are they going to play you? Left midfield or where?” Mascherano asked his compatriot.

While trying not to answer, the 30-year-old Citizen just said he’s not as versatile as his friend in Argentina’s national team. Probably the only thing that Mascherano can’t do is going for headers, as his 1.40-meter height is a limitation.

One of the last things they touched on was the weather. While they expected some mild weather, they agreed that a little bit of rain would not hurt.

“The Argentine community is fine,” Zabaleta responded to Mascherano about how his compatriots were doing.

They recognized having too many Argentinians on the field could be dangerous. While they are close friends off the field, they become enemies when the ball starts rolling.
