The Reds continue their unbeaten league run in 2015 with a crucial away win against Southampton.

Earlier today, Liverpool continued in their quest to make it into the Champions League spots after a disappointing first half of the season.

The Reds are currently unbeaten since the start of 2015 and were keen to keep that up against Southampton, whose fortunes are the exact opposite of Brendan Rodgers' side. The Saints had started off quite brightly, with new Italian striker Graziano Pelle firing in the goals, but soon saw both their new signing's goals and some of those good results evaporate. As a result, they then slipped out of the top three, then the top four, and now will have to battle it out with Arsenal and Manchester United if they want Champions League football next season.

Meanwhile, the Reds, who finished second last season but were dumped out of the Champions League, are determined to make amends and work their way up the table. And they have been well on their way to achieving that with another crucial win. A world class screamer from Coutinho and an instinctive finish from Raheem Sterling will definitely give fans something to smile about when they look at the league table.

With 45 points, Liverpool are now just three behind Arsenal and two behind Manchester United as the race for the top four really gets into full swing.

The Reds are now unbeaten in their last 10 Premier League games, with 7 wins and 3 draws, and more important, in shutting out Southampton have kept five straight clean sheets on the road--which is the first time they have done this since 1985.

Additionally they only had two shots on target, but no matter--as both ended up in the back of the net.

And some special mentions for Kevin Friend, whose officiating performance during the game incited some controversy due to non penalty calls and an incident involving Simon Mignolet:
