The Uruguayan coach denied his club can be overconfident because of the difference between the two sides, with America in 3rd while Pumas struggle to leave the bottom.

Even though his team is still under construction, America's coach Gustavo Matosas promised his fans a victory against Pumas, in one more edition of the Mexico City derby between two of the most popular fans in Mexican football.

The Uruguayan, recently appointed coach for Las Aguilas, denied his players feel too confident about facing Pumas, who have struggled this season to find their most convincing form.

"In Mexican football, every team has its day. You can't be too confident when you face this or that team, and this is not the case with my players. We want to win and we will work accordingly, but my players are aware we have to fight hard against one of our toughest opponents," Matosas said in a press conference.

With only six games heading the current Liga MX champions, the former Leon boss already feels identified with his new team and what these kind of matches represent to the team's fans.

"It's really motivating to be part of this kind of team. This games are truly important for our fanbase, and we will try not to disappoint them next Sunday," Matosas added.

Finally, the manager denied being worried about the scheduled kick-off time, since this will be the first time his players start a game at noon.

"There's always a first time, and the weather conditions  will get to both teams. Maybe they are more used to it, but by no means we will base our performance on such an issue," the coach concluded.

Las Aguilas will wait until Saturday to determine whether Michael Arroyo and Christian Pellerano can make their 18 man squad, following their recent injuries.
