Luiz would not celebrate in case of scoring against his former team. He knows it won't be an easy matchup.

During his time with Chelsea, David Luiz won the Champions League in 2012. Now, the Brazilian defender hopes the English team does even make it past the round of 16.

“I’m happy to be here. Maybe if I score against Chelsea, I don’t celebrate out of respect but of course, I’ll be happy,” Luiz said.

Now that he is with Paris Saint Germain, there is nothing holding him back from being the bad guy in Mourinho’s quest for another European title. As much as he wants his team to move forward, he knows it will not be easy.

“It doesn’t matter where you are in this kind of game, you need to be focused, mentally and physically, everything,” the defender added.

Last year, both teams also clashed in the European tournament. Luiz scored an own goal, his first one for PSG. He would go on and sign with the French team for £50million during the summer.

Last year it was Chelsea who moved on. This year, the 27-year-old player wishes that his team managed by Laurent Blanc, could find the perfect plan to keep Chelsea away from winning their third Champions League title.

“I was very happy in Chelsea but I decided now is the moment for another place and it became a great opportunity for me to come to a big project,” Luiz explained on what made him leave the Blues.

The first leg of this exciting matchup will come on Wednesday at the Parc des Princes. On March 11 they will face-off again at Stamford Bridge to decide who makes it to the next round.
