Tunisia tackles Congo DR while Zambia deals with the Cape Verdeans as things roll to a climax in Equatorial Guinea. Who will get the better of their opponents?

Tunisia vs Congo DR

Draws, draws and more draws: such is the narrative that has been so far written at the Africa Cup of Nations this year. Fans of free-flowing football hoping to see end to end contests adorned with goals have had to settle for a few slender victories sandwiched between far too many goalless and 1-1 draws. It would appear the tactics have excessively been geared towards stopping the goals going in than towards actually scoring them.

The story is not likely to change as Tunisia take on Congo DR on Monday. For all their strength, one can not expect Tunisia to win this match by anything more than a one-goal difference. And if they start as sluggishly as they did against Cape Verde, the greater possibility against Congo DR is yet another draw.

Zambia vs Cape Verde

Match 1 on the 26th pits 2012 AFCON champions Zambia against Cape Verde, a country that is steadily on the rise in as far footballing matters are concerned. FIFA very much recognize the talent and organization that the islanders having, ranking them at #7 in Africa, four places ahead of the 11th placed Zambians. Given these statistics, one would expect a goal-laden game full of feverish attacking and teams going out of their way to overpower their opponents but no, this is not likely to be the case.

Both teams will likely err on the side of caution. Tightly organized defenses will rule the pitch, snuffing out any attempt by the other team to breach their goal. Forwards, especially wingers, will track to offer their full backs support when the team is off the ball.
