After a stop-start beginning to their domestic campaign, Inter now appear to finally be getting back on track. The Nerazzurri have not lost any of their four matches since returning after the Christmas holiday and recently enjoyed a 2-0 win over Sampdoria in the Coppa Italia thanks to goals from Mauro Icardi and Xherdan Shaqiri and will be hoping to earn their first win as they welcome Torino, who have struggled to find the goals this season.

The win over Sampdoria was a good sight for fans as it saw new signings Lukas Podolski and Xherdan Shaqiri team up for the Swiss international's goal as the World Cup winner set up his teammate with a nifty back-heel assist for the team's first goal and they will next take on reigning champions Napoli in the next round. However, for now, given the congested state of affairs in the middle of the table, a win over the Granata would certainly move them closer to clinching a European spot for next season.

Certainly, the odds are in favor of the hosts as not only are they unbeaten in their last 21 meetings but also Torino have not beaten Inter since a 2-0 victory nearly 21 years ago in February 1994. However, despite being one of the lowest scoring sides in the league with just 16 goals, 75% of their last four meetings have ended in draws and the Granata certainly have shown that they are not against holding out for a stalemate.

In fact, like Inter, they have yet to lose a league game this year, with two straight draws followed by a win over Cesena and they, too, could start to make a push for a Europa League berth with a victory at the Giuseppe Meazza. Having held their opponents' cross town rivals AC Milan to a draw about two weeks ago, Giampiero Ventura's troops will want to build on their slowly growing confidence after dispatching Cesena thanks to a late goal from Maxi Lopez in their last league fixture.

New striker Podolski will hope to register his first goal since signing for Roberto Mancini's team on loan from Arsenal this January. The German international will be likely deployed in a three-man attack flanked by Argentinian duo Icardi and Rodrigo Palacio, the latter of whose solitary strike was enough to down the Granata in this same fixture last season.
