About a week after winning his third Ballon d'Or prize, CR7 has set yet another record in La Liga.

Fresh off winning this year's Ballon d'Or it was back to business for Cristiano Ronaldo in league action this weekend.

Although the three-time winner was not able to help his side from being dumped out of the Copa del Rey by cross-town rivals Atletico Madrid, he nonetheless illustrated why he is regarded as the world's best by doing what he does best and netting a brace in Real Madrid's match against Getafe.

Including his goal against Atleti, this means he has now scored three goals in two games and continues to break records in the process.

Check out some of Cristiano Ronaldo's stats (both for this season and his overall La Liga career thus far):

His double against Getafe today now takes him to 28 goals in just 17 games, a new record for Spanish football.

He now has 89 goals on the road, which is another record for his club. No other player has netted that many away from home in their history.

Only 37 goals stand between him and becoming Real Madrid's all time goal scorer.

Between him, Gareth Bale, and Karim Benzema, they have scored 63 in all competitions and provided 29 assists.

  • CR7 has 36 of those goals and 13 of those assists.

Not only does he lead the scoring charts in La Liga with 28 goals, but also:

  • His 9 assists and 4 hat-tricks are also the most out of any other player so far.

However, he can't do it all without the support of his teammates...

His favorite partner in crime? None other than Karim Benzema. The French star has assisted 28 of his teammate's goals so far, including 5 this season.

This also means that Benzema has now over-taken former teammate Mesut Ozil as CR7's main assist man. Prior to departing for Arsenal, World Cup-winner Ozil had provided 27 for the Real Madrid star, so Benzema certainly looks set to add more to his tally as the season progresses.
