UEFA Champions League returns to ESPN platforms - ESPN, ESPN HD and ESPN360

August 11, 2010
Elite Football is back with European football’s most prestigious club competition, the UEFA Champions League, returning to ESPN, ESPN HD and ESPN 360.
This month’s action wraps up the qualifying rounds and is the final step to determine the clubs who will join the automatic qualifiers in the field of 32 to begin the Group Stage in September.

As always, the teams here represent the best leagues in Europe, led by the Spanish Primera League, English Premier League and Italian Serie A. Among the automatic qualifiers for this year’s Group Stage are some of the strongest, most entertaining clubs in world football: Spain’s Barcelona and Real Madrid, England’s Chelsea and Manchester United, and the finalists for the 2009/2010 title, Italy’s Inter Milan and Germany’s Bayern Munich.

Coverage this month on ESPN features both legs of the Playoff Round, the UEFA Champions League 2010/2011 draw to determine the Group Stage groups, and the UEFA Super Cup, a clash between the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League winners. ESPN’s coverage of the UEFA Champions League airs LIVE and on short-turnaround throughout the season.
