The veteran coach stated the club will regain their spot in the Premier League once every player is fully fit to play with the Red Devils

Former Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson spoke today about the Red Devils' season so far. The historic coach seems confident about the team's future under Louis Van Gaal, claiming the club will be leading the Premier League next year, when every player that arrived this season is fully fit to play.

"I know Van Gaal, he is a great coach and he will do a good job. I don't know how he can expect to be at the top with the amount of injuries the team has suffered. When he's got every player fit to play, then you will see the real Manchester United," Ferguson stated.

Following a dubious start this season, being eliminated in the Capital One Cup and losing to Swansea and Leicester City, the Red Devils have bounced back and currently hold the third spot in the Premier League, behind Chelsea and Manchester City. Ferguson had time to talk about this summer's signings, stating they are not to blame for the team's whereabouts.

"I don't care what's happening with the players that arrived this season, they just need time to adapt. When I had Evra and Vidic they were all over the place, they needed five months to get used to playing with United, adapting to the country, the culture, and it will surely be the same with these players," Ferguson added.

Finally, Sir Alex referred to some players he coached that could prove key to the team's resurgence next year.

"Carrick is the best English player right now. Van Persie was a little off after the World Cup, but he will be fine next year, and you can see Rooney flying again, he will get the goals that the team needs, it's just a matter of time," Ferguson declared.
