The Colombian midfielder left Real Madrid's last match against Celta complaining about some pain his right leg. His return date is yet to be revealed.

Real Madrid's midfield suffered yet another blow this morning. The club's doctors revealed today Colombian midfielder James Rodriguez suffered a grade 1 strain in his right calf on Saturday's match against Celta Vigo, which will force him to rest for an amount of time yet to be determined. Rodriguez will most likely miss the team's participation in the upcoming Club World Cup, although coach Carlo Ancelotti hopes he can make it back on time to play the Final match.

"We don't have much time for him to heal, but if we make it to the Final match, he might have a slight chance of playing in it," Ancelotti stated.

Rodriguez's injury could bring a problem to Ancelotti's tactics, since he was key to the team's performances in the past few weeks. Following Luka Modric's injury during the past international break, and with Sami Khedira constantly out due to injuries, the Italian coach will have to adjust Real Madrid's lineup to substitute the Colombian playmaker.

With the club reluctant to reveal a return date for the midfielder, Rodriguez will surely be left out of the team that will face Ludogorets for Matchday 6 of the UEFA Champions League and their Liga matchup against Almeria on Friday.
