The team's VP, Sean Sogliano, stated today some players like Rafael Marquez and Javier Saviola have not lived up to the expectations.

Hellas Verona's season so far has not been what was expected. With this in mind, the team's VP Sean Sogliano stated some players have not performed as they were expected to, mentioning Argentinian striker Javier Saviola and Mexican defender Rafael Marquez.

"Our fans were expecting so much of our summer transfers such as Saviola and Marquez. But they should not focus that much on them, since we have players here that have done a better job, showing great attitude," Sogliano said

The executive referred to their last defeat against Sassuolo, in which Marquez made some mistakes that ended up costing goals to his team. Furthermore, the team's VP compared their latest result with the one against Napoli, in which they lost 6-1.

"Our great expectations must be leveled with the results we get. Our last league game has to be judged differently, and you can't talk about the player (referring to Marquez), but fo example, back in Napoli we made some mistakes and ended up suffering in the back," Sogliano added.

Given this scenario, the team has not changed their goal for the remainder of the season.

"Our goal has always been to avoid relegation. We can't make any excuses, because each season is different than the next, but we will try to overcome our current situation," the executive concluded.
