Despite causing a ruckus within the Black Stars' camp at the World Cup, new coach Avram Grant has opened the door to the star pair.

Certainly, in life, there are times when people do deserve a second chance to make things right.

And football is no exception. But, for fans, it all depends on who is the one being given a mulligan to do things over, with some players dividing opinion more than others.

After their disastrous World Cup campaign, in which Ghana earned just one dismal point and crashed out of the group stages, many Black Stars supporters were up in arms. Especially as reports came out about a mutiny within the team's camp, with Sulley Muntari and Kevin-Prince Boateng being named as the instigators that eventually saw Kwesi Appiah being shown the door.

Yet, with former Chelsea, West Ham, and Portsmouth coach Avram Grant now taking over, the Israeli tactician has decided to consider the possibility of the trouble-making duo having another chance to redeem themselves on the international stage.

"The door is open for everyone," he stated at a recent press conference.

"They need to show they are willing to play – if they are willing to sacrifice then the door is open to them.

"Players are not untouchable. If they are good, they will play. If they have quality, they will play."

However, he is clearly not planning to change things too much, starting with the team's skipper and confirmed that all-time top scorer Asamoah Gyan would not be making way for vice-captain Andre Ayew.

"There is no reason to replace Gyan as Ghana captain. [After all, as far as I know], he did a good job at the World Cup."
