The French center back would be willing to leave Real Madrid even though he recently signed a contract extension with the European champions.

French defender Raphael Varane may have grow tired of waiting for an opportunity with Real Madrid, would be looking for a transfer in the upcoming winter break. According to sources, Varane has been linked to Premier League sides Chelsea and Manchester United, who would be interested in signing the young Frenchman.

Varane has not been able to earn a starting spot with Carlo Ancelotti's team, having Pepe and Sergio Ramos one step ahead of him. The 21-year old defender sparked rumours surrounding his departure from Spain's capital after stating he has "more responsibilities with France than with his team", hinting he is not happy with the playing time he's had so far.

Immediately, Varane's future was linked to Manchester United and Chelsea, both teams with arguments to try and hire the Frenchman. Manchester United would be looking to fortify their defense, since recently signed Marcos Rojo and Luke Shaw have not proven useful for Louis Van Gaal's team. If Varane joined the Blues, the French defender would re-join his former coach Jose Mourinho, who has always believed in Varane's skills, even starting him in key matches against Barcelona.

The only setback for a possible move is that Varane recently signed a contract extension with Los Blancos until 2020, which would make it a little bit difficult to afford.
