The Spanish defender stated he will keep trying to earn a spot in Luis Enrique's starting lineup, where he has not been a regular this season.

Gerard Pique tried to stop rumors that place him away from Camp Nou. The two-time Euro Champion with Spain stated today he has not even thinked about leaving his beloved club, despite of not being a regular in Luis Enrique's lineups.

"I don't think that just because you have been absent for two or three games you have to consider the possibility of departing. It would not be coherent since I think Barcelona is my life, I want to play here and if there's any doubt about it, I will keep trying to earn a starting spot," the defender explained.

Following some results that left them in second place in La Liga and in their UEFA Champions League group, Pique tries to understand why criticism has been so hard these days.

"Our fans will always want us to win, obviously. When the time comes that you can't earn the results everyone is hoping for, then you get blasted by critics. But we are used to that kind of pressure. We know that when we start winning our fans will keep it together, and that's when criticism will cease. It's just a matter of time," Pique added.

The player hopes he can be included in tomorrow's starting lineup against Germany in a much publicized friendly match.
