Fresh off reports that Mesut Ozil had finally reached a settlement with his father, more information regarding the duo's split has been revealed.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that Arsenal star Mesut Ozil had finally reached a settlement in the ongoing legal battle with his father, who had sued the 26-year-old after being fired.

Naturally, any family feud will generally spill over into a business relationship. But what makes this story even more interesting is some new information apparently uncovered by Spanish publication MARCA.

The daily newspaper--as per 101 GG--adds some more spice to the story by claiming that the reason behind the duo's feud lies with the World Cup winner's record-breaking move to Arsenal.

Widely established at a whopping 50 million, the transaction made the former Real Madrid player the most expensive ever signed by Arsene Wenger. Yet, despite this, the Spanish report claims that the midfielder never wanted to move to London in the first place.

The reason behind the move? His father, who apparently netted a tidy 8 million off his son's transfer, and from then on, the relationship began to deteriorate until it eventually crumbled and ceased to exist.

With his struggles so far in London coupled with his injury woes, this news will surely not sit too well with Gunners fans, some of whom have gotten frustrated with Ozil's production rate and overall contribution to Wenger's squad.
