The Gunners midfielder has struck an out of court settlement with Mustafa Ozil after being sued by his very own father

Many rumors have been circulating around as to what is the cause of Mesut Ozil's demise at Arsenal. After displaying his impressive talents upon arrival at the Emirates, the German's performance took a huge dip when the second half of last season was ushered in.

Enter the new season, and with a World Cup medal under his belt, many expected the former Real Madrid playmaker to recapture his form, a form which football fans became accustomed to during his successful spell at Santiago Bernabeu.

However, that was not to be as Ozil frustrations on the pitch persisted. Many believe behind-the-scene problems are to blame for Ozil's shortcomings, with an alleged break-up with model girlfriend Mandy Capristo singled out as a major factor.

However, German publication Bild have now reported a new, interesting story regarding the Gunners ace, his father Mustafa, and court-related issue.

According to Bild (per 101 Great Goals), Arsenal's record-signing reached an out of court settlement with his father after Mustafa sued the World Cup winner for a loss of earnings, worth €630,000, after he was fired from his son's marketing company Ozil Marketing GmbH last year.

As written in the report, Ozil, who now relies on his brother Mutlu on running his affairs, had a falling out with his father after Mustafa left his mother Gülizar, with contact between father and son after the split being limited to SMS only.

The exact amount of the court settlement between Ozil and his father remains unknown, however.
