The were-to-be hosts will not be allowed to play in the tournament after declining the organization for fear of the Ebola virus.

Following a request by the Moroccan Football Federation, the African Football Confederation (CAF) announced the African Cup of Nations will not be hosted by the Moroccans in 2015. The would-be hosts requested the tournament to be postponed until 2016 for fear of the Ebola virus spreading.

CAF officers stated today the tournament's current dates would be maintained, but there has been no announcement about where the competition will be held.

As a consequence, the CAF's board of directors determined to exclude the Moroccan team from the tournament, with the new host country taking their place.

"Accordingly, and following the refusal of the Moroccan party, the Executive Committee has decided that the national team of Morocco is automatically disqualified and will not take part in the 30th edition of the Orange Africa Cup of Nations in 2015" can be read in the press release.

The African Football Confederation will still consider sanctioning the Moroccan Association for their actions. Several countries have shown interest in organizing the tournament, but none of them have been revealed, according to sources.
