The Argentinian midfielder is currently training with his former club Velez Sarsfield, waiting to join Newcastle and eventually find another team.

One of this year's incredible stories was that of Jonas Gutierrez. The Newcastle player revealed earlier this year he was diagnosed with testicular cancer after the 2012-2013 season. After hearing about the news, he decided to get treatment in Argentina, and today, despite his club's lack of support, he returned to practice with his former team, Velez Sarsfield.

Back in September, Gutierrez spoke to a local news station about his disease, stating Newcastle did not back him up with medical support of any kind. "The Hound" remembered how he felt about it, but seems optimistic after all he's been through.

"Their timing was horrible. When I came back from the surgery, I found out they did not want me there, and it would have been fine if I did not play well for them or if I did not comply with their requests. Today's a very exciting day for me, and I will enjoy this until I have to return to Europe and see what happens over there," Gutierrez stated.

Asked about his current feelings towards Pardew or his employers, Jonas stated he holds no hard feelings for them, despite their actions when they learned about his illness.

"Normally, I would be really upset, but this thing that happened to me taught me not to harbor those feelings. Right now, I just want to look ahead and see what happens for me. You have to let go every bad thing that happened to you, and move forward. That will be my philosophy from now on," the player added.

Gutierrez stated he will return to Europe next month, since he is under contract with Newcastle.
