The 27-year-old Barcelona striker asked the referee permission to be excused off the pitch during the first half in his side's international friendly

Barcelona striker Luis Suarez was back in action for his national side as the striker played in Uruguay's clash with Saudi Arabia, on Friday.

This was the first time the 27-year-old attacker featured for the Copa America champions ever since receiving a lengthy ban from football for biting Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Serving a four-month suspension, keeping him off the pitch for nine competitive international games, Suarez's sanction excludes friendlies, meaning the former Liverpool star was eligible for Friday night's encounter at the Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Stadium.

Last season's English Premier League Golden Boot and Golden Ball winner, Suarez had an eventful run in the clash, ending 1-1 after the final whistle, as the Blaugrana ace's 47th minute strike came off the post and was deflected into the goal by Hassan Muath Fallatah for Suarez's side's only goal of the night, before being substituted off after 69 minutes.

However, the most eye-catching moment involving the Barcelona summer signing came in the first half when Luis Suarez was seen asking the match referee Jamil Juma to be excused for a toilet break before running off the pitch in the direction of the tunnel, with the game's proceedings continuing in the forward's absence as he took care of business in the restroom.
