The German International reported soreness in his left knee to the Gunners medical team after Sunday's game against Chelsea, leading to a medical examination that confirmed the news

Mesut Özil, one of Arsenal's key players, came down with an injury after Sunday's match against Chelsea. The German midfielder was diagnosed with a partial knee ligament tear, which will keep him off the pitch until January 2015.

"Özil complained of a sore left knee after the game and the club advised the German FA to run medical checks when he joined up with his international squad. The club will make further assessments and it is too early to say how long Ozil may be out of action," can be read in a press release by Arsenal's doctors.

"The treatment will be non-operative with a six-week immobilisation of the knee. Mesut Ozil is likely to be out for 10 to 12 weeks," stated the German Football Association explaining the clinical procedures the player will undergo.

Arsenal lose yet another player due to injury in this first months of the Premier League. First, Olivier Giroud was ruled out after scoring the equalizer against Everton. Then, Mathieu Debuchy came down with an ankle injury during their match against Manchester City.

Özil may find this time away from the pitch as a way to return to his top form. Recently, Mesut had endured severe criticism from Arsenal fans due to his lack of commitment and his tendency to disappear during important matchups. When the German arrived to Arsene Wenger's team, he dazzled Gunners' fans with his skills, but the effect lasted very little time and he has never recovered his form ever since.

Özil's injury did not go unnoticed for Arsenal's fans and trolls. Here you have some reactions surrounding the announcement:
