Since returning to England, Mourinho has been keen on establishing Chelsea as a dominant force. How does he compare against other managers?

Last month, it was revealed which Premier League clubs had paid too much and which ones had gotten a bargain on some of their new transfer acquisitons.

To sum it up, Chelsea were the team that made out like bandits. Not only did the Blues get PSG to pay way more for David Luiz--£50 million to be exact--but they also got great deals on star duo Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa, as well as new striker Loic Remy.

With the London giants currently enjoying top spot at the head of the league table as Jose Mourinho seeks to claim some silverware this season, some may be curious as to how much the Portuguese boss has spent since arriving in the summer of 2013 as opposed to the team's biggest rivals.

Bargain buys: Fabregas and Costa have formed a brilliant partnership and are two key cogs in Chelsea's success thus far

According to sources, the Portuguese tactician has indeed gotten the biggest bang for his buck thus far. Having spent about £55 million net (transfers in vs. transfers out), since 2013 it is a drop in the pond versus Manchester United's nearly £180 million net or reigning champions Manchester City's amount, which is a bit over £110 million net.

Meanwhile, rivals Arsenal and Liverpool ended up with about £86 million and £54.3 million respectively meaning that the Reds slightly beat out the Blues in terms of their net spending.

A detailed breakdown of the Big 5--that is Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester City--and their spending habits on their newest acquistions can be found here.
