The Polish ace and Arjen Robben all made the score sheet, as fellow summer signing Xabi Alonso came inches close to scoring a wonder goal on Saturday

Polish striker Robert Lewandowski was in a particularly good mood as his side Bayern Munich cruised to a comprehensive 4-0 win over Hannover 96.

The two sides clashed this Saturday in the Bundesliga, and it was Pep Guardiola's side who came out triumphant as braces from their summer signing and Arjen Robben clinched all three points for the Bavarians.

Facing off at the Allianz Arena, Lewandowski opened the scoring after only six minutes of play, before adding a second before half-time, his eighth in all competitions for his new employers, as the league holders proved to difficult to hande.

A 13th minute volley from the Bavarians' 30-year-old Dutchman meant Die Roten entered the break with a three goal cushion, before the former Real Madrid and Chelsea attacker scored Bayern Munich's fourth of the night after 79 minutes.

New midfield addition Xabi Alonso, who moved to Bayern Munich from La Liga giants Real Madrid, came inches close to scoring a wonder volley, and what would have undoubtedly been goal of the season, after a beautifully taken shot from Bayern Munich's own half was frantically tipped over the post by Ron-Robert Zieler.
