Earlier this week, Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois told the press he would be signing a new contract with English side Chelsea. Today, both the club and the player announced the new deal, which will go on for the next five years.
"My future was already sorted out but it's nice to know I'm going to be here for another five years and now I can just concentrate on playing games, I am very happy with this new deal.," Courtois said.
The player returned from a loan to Atletico Madrid, where he won La Liga last year, being recognized as one of the top goalkeepers in the world.
