The Gunners highly-anticipated home encounter with English Premier League champions Manchester City is fast approaching, but could they be without their influential Welsh midfielder?

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has seen his injury woes pile up after witnessing Welsh midfielder Aaron Ramsey limp off the pitch in Wales Euro 2016 qualifier match against Andorra, on Tuesday night.

The Dragons ace was on the receiving end of a rough kick during the game, rolled his ankle, and was later replaced by Emyr Huws deep into added time. The former Cardiff City F.C. star was later pictured with an ice pack on his ankle.

The 23-year-old has become an influential member of the Gunners ranks, leading his club's goalscoring charts with two goals in three English Premier League games, but could see his season disrupted if the knock on Tuesday sidelines him for long.

The north London side now face a race to get Ramsey to full fitness as Arsenal face one of their toughest tests to their title credentials when they host reigning champions Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium, on Saturday.

Wales coach Chris Coleman remained hopeful Aaron Ramsey would be available for the mouth-watering clash on Saturday, but stressed the extent of the damage will only be revealed in the next 24-48 hours.

“He got kick on his ankle and twisted it,’ said Coleman. “Coming to the end of the game, we've got players with experience so it was pointless taking the risk. I won't do that with any of the players.”

“Hopefully he'll be okay for Arsenal at the weekend but we'll have to see what the next 24-48 hours holds.”

“There were half a dozen challenges that weren't very good. The ref should have clamped down but he let it go and we are a bit disappointed with that - we had a bit to contend with tonight.”

Fellow Welsh superstar Gareth Bale, who scored both goals in his nation's 2-1 win, had complained about Andorra’s Estadi Nacional, which has an artificial 3G surface, calling it the “worst pitch” he has ever played in, as both sides met with difficulties controlling the ball.

“It was by far the worst pitch I have ever played on,” Bale said about the Estadi Nacional, which was only certified by Europe's governing body last week. “I can't describe how bad, bobbly and hard the pitch was to deal with.

“We said at the start that the most important thing was to get three points. Other teams are going to find it difficult coming here so for us to get three points is important.”
