Comizzo had some problems handling the team, since most of the club’s top players were transferred to Atlas. Both clubs are owned by the same company

It was just a matter of time before Monarcas Morelia gave up on Angel Comizzo's job. Rumors circled the club yesterday, indicating the coach might be sacked today. This morning, the club confirmed via their Twitter feed Angel David Comizzo was sacked as Morelia's head coach.

"We have to inform that Angel David Comizzo is no longer coach for our team. We thank him for his enthusiasm, his commitment and his affection for our club, both as player and coach," the club informed through their Twitter feed.

After just a few minutes, the club unveiled who would be taking control of the club's destiny. Jose Guadalupe Cruz, former Atlante and Chiapas head coach, will be heading Morelia's efforts to leave the last place. Cruz led Atlante to their last Championship back in 2007, and coached Monterrey at the last Club World Cup, finishing the tournament in fifth place.

Morelia's first game with Cruz at the helm will be against Chiapas, once the FIFA Matchday break is over.
