August 28, 2014 By Miguel Solorzano
Sporting Kansas City & Graham Zusi host Houston Dynamo & Brad Davis this Friday, Aug. 29, at 8PM ET on NBCSN. D.C. United vs New York Red Bulls This Sunday, August 31 at 2:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

NBCSN’s coverage of Major League Soccer continues this Friday, August 29 at 8 p.m. ET when Sporting Kansas City host Houston Dynamo at Sporting Park in Kansas City, Kan.

Sporting Kansas City, second in the Eastern Conference, are led by U.S. Men’s National Team members Graham Zusi and Matt Besler, along with forward Dom Dwyer, while the Houston Dynamo feature USMNT teammates Brad Davis and DaMarcus Beasley.

Coverage continues this Sunday, August 31 at 2:30 p.m. - following NBC Sports Group’s weekend Premier League coverage - when the New York Red Bulls and current MLS-leading goal scorer Bradley Wright-Phillips (20 goals in 23 appearances this season) visit Eastern Conference leaders D.C. United at RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C.

COMMENTATORS: NBC Sports Group’s lead play-by-play announcer John Strong calls both games this weekend joined by host Russ Thaler and MSG Network analyst Shep Messing for Sporting Kansas City vs Houston Dynamo, and former MLS defender Robbie Russell (Real Salt Lake, D.C. United) for D.C. United vs New York Red Bulls.

Strong on this weekend’s games: "At the ceremonial end of the summer, we have two significant games with both playoff impact in the east, as well as rivalries of their own. Sporting Kansas City and Houston have faced off in the playoffs the last three years, but DaMarcus Beasley, Brad Davis, and the Dynamo need wins now if they want to have a chance at a fourth straight postseason meeting. Meanwhile, breakout star Dom Dwyer and Sporting's 2014 FIFA World Cup duo of Graham Zusi and Matt Besler are challenging once again for first place in the Eastern Conference.”

“On Sunday, one of the classic MLS rivalries is renewed between D.C. United and New York. Ben Olson is maybe the front-runner for Coach of the Year after engineering a turnaround for D.C. United. The Red Bulls have been headlined by MLS-leading scorer Bradley Wright-Phillips, but Thierry Henry is writing perhaps his last chapter in the U.S. with amazing performances week in and week out."
