Both Porto and Benfica got off to a winning start in week one, while Sporting only managed one point. Watch live as Boavista hosts their first Primeira Liga match since 2008.

Portuguese football fans got to see their clubs in action last weekend, and they are in for yet another exciting fixture list. Vitoria de Guimarães got things started at home on Friday night, defeating newcomers Penafiel. That victory puts the Minhotos at the top of the table with six points from two matches.

On Saturday, Porto will make a short trip to Paços de Ferreira, where they will meet former manager Paulo Fonseca.

The 41-year-old had a fantastic campaign with the Pacenses two years ago, leading to the Dragões recruiting him to take over the spot of departed Vitor Pereira. Unfortunately for the Mozambique born manager, his tenure at the club did not last long. He is now back at Paços where he had his best managerial career, and he will be looking to get some revenge.

Porto won their opening match against Maritimo, and they are coming off a 0-1 victory over Lille midweek. They will have one eye on their 2nd leg against the French outfit, but going up against their former manager will add some excitment to the match.

Last year's runners-up Sporting will play their first home match on Saturday, when they host Arouca.

Both sides drew in their opening fixture. While Sporting squandered a lead against Academica, Estoril Praia stole some points against Arouca. With both searching for their first win, the hosts will be without William Carvalho, after he was sent off last match.

A meeting between Boavista and Benfica will steal the headlines on Sunday.

The current Portuguese champions started their campaign off with a 2-0 victory over Paços de Ferreira, but Boavista was not as fortunate.

Petit's squad took on Braga at the Estádio Axa, taking home with them a heavy 3-0 defeat, and a red card. Fabio Ervões was sent off late in the match after picking up his second yellow card, and he will be unavailable to take part in Sunday's home opener.

It has been a long time since Boavista was in the top-tier of Portuguese football, making Sunday a historic moment for the club, the players, the fans, and their manager.
