According to the Bayern Munich honorary president, Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira would be a perfect match for the Bundesliga champions

Germany football legend and the Bavarians honorary president Franz Beckenbauer has made a recommendation to Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich to sign die Mannschaft midfielder Sami Khedira.

The 27-year-old Real Madrid ace has returned to Spain on the back of an impressive World Cup campaign, playing an integral role in the national side's triumph in the tournament in Brazil as European heavyweight clinched their fourth title in a 1-0 win over Argentina at the Maracana.

Los Blancos, though, have signed another World Cup-winning German midfielder, 24-year-old maestro Toni Kroos. Brought in for £24m, this has seen Khedira's first-team chances take a significant dip as the former Stuttgart man was dropped for both Real Madrid's games against Sevilla, in the UEFA Super Cup, and Atletico Madrid, in the Spanish Super Cup.

The English Premier League's London giants Arsenal and Chelsea are rumored favorites to sign Sami Khedira, with the Gunners' German base and a possible reunion at Stamford Bridge with former boss Jose Mourinho appealing to the Blancos midfielder.

A move for the 27-year-old Los Blancos midfielder could be a smart move for the Bundesliga champions after Javi Martinez was handed a lengthy sideline due to cruciate ligament damage

The Bavarians are also believed to be in for Sami Khedira as Pep Guardiola is reportedly seeking a holding midfielder to replace the injured Javi Martinez, who is out for the remainded of the year with cruciate ligament damage.

"Khedira would fit into any team. He'd be outstanding at Bayern. He's incredibly skilled in his number six position. He could play alongside Schweinsteiger or Lahm. He'd be great," Beckenbauer stated to German magazine Bild.

However, Khedira, who's contract with Les Merengues ends net season, has apparently sent his agent to London to negotiate deals with Arsenal and Chelsea, so if Bayern Munich were to acquire the German's services, they best act quick.

Die Roten must act quick though if they wish to sign Khedira, as the player appears to be EPL-bound, with Arsenal or Chelsea his most likely destination
