More than a month after Juan Zuniga's horrendous tackle ended Neymar's 2014 World Cup run, the 22-year-old Barca ace nominates the Colombian defender for the Ice Bucket challenge

Barcelona superstar Neymar is the latest footballer to follow in the footsteps of Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher and Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo to undergo the Ice Bucket challenge.

Nominated by Los Blancos' Brazilian defender Marcello, the Selecao ace accepted the challenge, submerging himself in ice water, before passing on the gauntlet to others.

In a video posted on the Blaugrana star's Instagram page, the 22-year-old nominated three other famous names, including former AC Milan, Real Madrid, and Manchester City attacker Robinho, and 1 Direction singer Niall Horan. But it was the third name that caught the football world's attention.

The third player Neymar nominated for the Ice Bucket challenge was  Colombian defender Juan Zuniga. The Napoli full-back was the player that ended Neymar's 2014 World Cup campaign after kneeing the former Santos star in the back, breaking a bone his vertebrae.

The host nation, who won the encounter agains Los Cafeteros 2-1, subsequently went to lose the semi-final encounter with Germany 7-1 in Neymar's absence, before ending the tournament in a disappointing fourth-place.

This led to racial abuse and death threats targeted towards the 28-year-old Colombian, who later apologized for his actions, claiming in was unintentional.
