Mexico’s Head Coach wants to consolidate the group of players that played the World Cup with some rising stars.

Taking full advantage of the upcoming "FIFA matchdays", Mexico and Chile will meet in a game on September 6th at Levi’s Stadium in San Francisco. There, coach Miguel Herrera will give some new players the opportunity to play for Mexico, given all the tournaments El Tri will face in 2015.

Herrera wants his countrymen living abroad to have a great experience with the team that represented Mexico in Brazil, and getting some new talent into the mix:

“We want our people to watch their team on the pitch, let’s hope we can give them a good show, so they get to know their new players. We want the best start possible for this new era, which is headed to making history in Russia 2018”, “El Piojo” told reporters.

After this match, Mexico will have another game against Bolivia, just three days later at the Dicks’s Sporting Goods Park in Colorado. The team in green has also programmed a European tour in November, playing Belarus and the Netherlands.

Mexico needs a big pool of players to choose from, since they will have to participate in the CONCACAF Gold Cup and CONMEBOL’s Copa América, almost at the same time.

“We know that as part of CONMEBOL, we may run into Chile or Bolivia in that tournament, so I think it is a great opportunity to face some of the players you will have to play against in the near future. Picking this teams was brilliant and helpful for us”, Herrera concluded.
